Last Week of School

Ronan and Sadie went on a field trip with their classes to Sheldon Park on Monday to celebrate the end of the school year (their school ends so early!). Griffin and I went along, and my mom walked over with Finley to join us! Ronan calls this park "Memaw's Park" since it's so close to her house, and Sadie calls it her "Birthday Park" because she had a B-day party there one year. (: They were very excited and had SO much fun playing with their friends!

It's hard to believe that Ronan is already done with his 1st year of preschool! I'm so glad we decided to have him go as a 3 year old. It was such a good experience for him...meeting new friends, learning from such a nice & patient teacher, going to music class & P.E., field trips, etc. I know that Ronan enjoyed having a break from home, and I really valued the 1:1 time I got to have with Griffin. I am continually amazed at how quickly time flies, and I am reminded on a regular basis that I need to slow down a little...worry a lot less... and just enjoy my boys and all of the blessings in my life!

Renee's Shower

On Sunday I went to a bridal shower & luncheon for my good friend Renee Purdy. Renee and her fiance, Jeff, live in San Franciso and are getting married this summer in Sunriver. It was so great that she was able to come up for the weekend in the midst of the busyness of planning a wedding, moving, and being a full-time teacher! Renee is amazing and we all felt honored to get to spend the afternoon celebrating her! The shower was located at the Purdy's friend's house in the Coburg hills. Great food, great view, & great company...SO much fun!!

Here's Renee with some of her college friends.

While I was at the shower, Josh and Ronan went to see Speed Racer at the movie theater with our neighbor friends Karl and Konnor. They had a great time! Griffin got to spend the afternoon at the Henry's house...for pictures check out Katrina's post.

water play

On Saturday we spent most of the day hanging out with our neighbor, Shaun, and her son Konnor. It was another super warm day so we decided to try out their little wading pool. It felt nice to dip our feet in the pool and the kids enjoyed splashing around in it.

Konnor filling up the pool and Griffin thinking about going in (:
The water was too cold for Griffin, so he kept himself busy playing with this pitcher and cup.
Here are some shot of Ronan playing with a water blaster toy--you fill it with water, then squeeze it & the lid flies up in the air. Pretty cool!

cooling off...

...on the hottest day of the year (so far)!

Community Garden

My friend April invited us (+ a few other friends) to the park today to play and also see their garden nearby at the Skinner City Farm.

Ronan taking a turn with the hose.
I let him spray me a little because it was getting HOT outside! I love it!
Yasmine and Griffin walking along the path in the garden.
We left the park around 11:30 because it was really warming up and there wasn't a lot of shade for my fair-skinned boys. I took the kids to Dairy Queen for lunch & ice cream cones ;) It just seemed like the right thing to do on a hot day! They loved it and so did I!

In Memory Of...

...Ashlyne Augustine Benson
We stopped by Ashlyne's bench on the way to the park to take some pictures in honor of her Birthday: May 16, 2002.

Sunshiny Day!

I walk with a group of friends (+ their kids) on Thursday mornings, and we've been stuck walking indoors at the mall for most of this year. Today, however, we ventured outside to enjoy the warm weather! We walked along the river path (3+ mile loop) and stopped to let the kids play at the park. Some of the ladies weren't able to stay at the park, so it ended up being Becca, Amy, and I with our kids. Fun cousin time!!
