Mother's Day-part 1

I had a very nice Mother's Day this year celebrating with my sweet family and most of our extended family. It started off kind of mellow because Griffin and I stayed home from church because he was getting over a cold. When Josh and Ronan came home they surprised me with a bouquet of flowers from each of my boys.
Josh also got me this really pretty pearl bracelet.
Next we went to my parent's house to have lunch and celebrate with all of the moms on the Hecht side of the family. Papa barbecued London Broil steak and we all brought side dishes to share. It was a beautiful day, so we got to eat and play in the backyard.

Special School Party

Ronan's preschool teacher did a great thing during the last week of school and had a special birthday party for all of the kids with a summer birthday. I thought it was such a neat idea, and Ronan was very excited to get to celebrate with his school buddies. I was taking care of Cohen that day, so he got to come along for the party. Ronan was extra excited to have his brother and cousin there. (:
So very happy!
Ahhh, frosting. (:

Erik's Visit

My brother, Erik, came down to Eugene the day after Cedar was born, so Becca and I went to the hospital with him to visit the Henry family.
It was fun having all four of us together to share in this special occasion. (:

Afterward, everyone came over to our house to have dessert and hang out. The kids always love having Uncle Erik around!
In this picture we were all watching one of Erik's short films: Brad's Big Day
This picture was taken a few days later when Katrina, Kenton, and Cedar stopped by on their way home from the hospital. My boys were so excited to get to see their newest cousin again. (:
Later in the week we went to the Henrys for a quick visit... and Ronan decided he was ready to hold baby Cedar for the first time.

Our Newest Nephew

We were all so excited to welcome baby Cedar Tenhunen Henry into the world on May 1st, 2009. He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Cedar was born to my younger sister, Katrina, and her husband, Kenton, and joined big brother, Finley. It was a very happy day! Everything went great with the delivery and Cedar was perfectly healthy. He was and continues to be a very sweet & mellow baby.

Later that day I brought Ronan and Griffin to the hospital to meet their new cousin. Griffin was very curious about Cedar and wanted to hold him. (: He was very gentle and didn't want to let go. (:

Happy Birthday, Aaron!

We celebrated Aaron's 35th B-Day at the Chase's new house on April 23rd. It was kind of a surprise party...Becca invited us all to come to their house after dinner and she didn't tell Aaron we were coming. He thought we would be celebrating after church on Sunday like we often do with birthdays in our family. He seemed to be surprised, so that was fun since he is a tough one to surprise. (:

Becca made a yummy ice cream cake and we all enjoyed sitting around the dining table visiting with one another.

Happy 30th Amy!!

Ahhh, I'm two months behind in blogging and I'm trying to catch up! I just can't let myself skip some of these memorable events!
On April 18th we finally got to celebrate my sister-in-law's (Amy) 30th Birthday. Her actual birthday was the day before Easter, so they decided to wait and have a big party the next weekend. The party was in the atrium at our church so there was plenty of room for all the kids to run around and play. It was a great party with lots of Amy's family and closest friends! There were a bunch of old pictures of Amy through the years and we all got a kick out of seeing how funny we looked in middle school (that's when my family moved to Eugene and first met the Ruddick family). (:

Katrina's Shower

On April 21st we had a baby shower at my house for Katrina and her soon-to-be-arriving son, Cedar . Becca, Mom, and Carolyn (Katrina's friend) helped out with all of the food, which was all low-sugar and low-carb since Katrina was dealing with gestational diabetes. Everything turned out great and we had a full house!!
Katrina painted these letters for Cedar's room.
