John's Birthday Party

October 17th~ Ronan's friend John turned 5 and he invited us over for a pumpkin patch party in his own backyard! We love going over to the Turanski's house because it feels like you're on a little farm. They have a big backyard with chickens and a huge garden, and they also have two bee hives on the roof of their house!

Ronan worked really hard on his card for John. It's been exciting for us to see his interest in writing grow this fall!

Kelly and Alan did a great job with John's party! They hid pumpkins (from their garden) around their yard and each pumpkin had yarn tied to it. Each kid got to search for a pumpkin by winding up their color of yarn until they found their pumpkin at the end of it. I thought it was such a cute idea and the kids loved it!

Pumpkin Patch

On October 16th, Ronan had his 1st field trip as a kindergartner to Detering Orchards, and all four of us got to go! We loaded onto the bus and then found out that the bus driver couldn't transport kids under four years old. ): So, I stayed with Ronan on the bus and Josh & Griffin followed in the car. Griffin was pretty sad about it, especially because he could see the bus the whole way there. I just wish we would have known that rule ahead of time! Once we got there Griffin was fine and had a great time with Ronan and his friends. (:

There are two kindergarten teachers at Holt and they each have an AM and PM class, and on field trip days all four classes go at the same time! It was fun for Ronan because he got to see some of his soccer teammates.

Coast Daytrip

On Friday, October 9th, Josh worked a few hours in the morning and then we headed to the coast for the day. It was kind of an extension of his birthday celebration. I had asked the boys a few week earlier what we should do for Daddy's birthday, and Ronan's answer was that Daddy would want to go to the coast.(: Some of Ronan's favorite memories are of playing on the beach and running on the rocks at the jetty with Josh. We don't go to the coast very often, so we decided to go for it. It feels great to be done with our house and being able to focus on spending time together as a family!

It was beautiful in Florence that day~sunny and hardly windy! We played on the beach, found some caves to explore, watched the sunset at the jetty, and finished off the day with clam chowder at Moe's. It was a wonderful day!

Josh's Birthday

October 6, 2009~On Josh's birthday we went to lunch at Sushiya! Becca watched Griffin after Moms of Grace group and Ronan was at school, so it was just the two of us at lunch! It was so nice to be able to talk and take our time eating. Everything was so delicious--such a treat!!

I think I always take pictures of the sushi. (: I just love the colors and presentation. Someday we'll get this creative!

Josh's Party

On October 3rd, we had a dinner party at our house with all the family to celebrate Josh's upcoming 32nd Birthday! We had a full house with 15 adults and 13 kids, but we were able to find enough seating for everyone. (: I made lasagna and baked spaghetti, and we had ice cream cake for dessert. We borrowed Katrina and Kenton's Rock Band stuff and everyone took turns playing The Beattles Rock Band. It was a fun party!
