End of June

We finished off the month of June by trying to get together with our friends, the Kecks, a few times before they moved to Washington.  It was great to see the boys play so well together, but it was bittersweet at the same time.  We will miss their family so much!

Women's Luncheon

The women's ministry team at our church put on an adorable beach-themed luncheon on June 26th.

Sasha was our table host and everything was decorated so summery & cute!
The entertainment for the event was a swimsuit fashion show of swimwear from the 1920's-1970's.  The models, which included my mom & sister Katrina, did such a great job!  They all looked amazing!

Cousins!

June 23rd~ I watched the Chase kids for a few hours while Becca worked (my parents were away on vacation), and the cousins had a pretty perfect day together!  Tyler had recently been teaching Ronan how to play Heroscape, so he brought over his game and they were quickly into it & speaking a language I couldn't understand. (:
For lunch we met up with Katrina and Amy & their kids at Emerald Park.

Father's Day

Father's Day this year ended up being a spread-out holiday for us.  My parents were going to be out of town, so we brought our gifts to my dad a few days early.
We gave him a Hawaiian shirt and a special book from the boys called I Love My Pirate Papa.
Katrina stopped by with her boys as we were leaving.
We spent the actual Father's Day, June 20th, celebrating with just the four of us.  We went to church, then took Josh to Papa's Pizza for lunch.  The boys made cards for Josh and we gave him a popcorn popper and some goodies. (:
The next evening we met up with Josh's family at Best Lane park to celebrate with the dads of the family.  We rode our bikes there and it was the first time Griffin got to ride his own bike rather than sit in the trailer!  He did so well!  It took us a bit longer to get there, but he felt so proud of himself. (:
A group shot of some of the dads & boys of the family-- Jon was there, too, but somehow he didn't get in this picture.
We got Josh's dad a bocce ball set.

Last Day of School cont'd

June 17th~ That evening we continued my family's tradition of going out to dinner to celebrate good report cards!  It was fun to get to experience that now with my son. (:  We decided on Kowloon because all four of us like the food and we wanted to walk around Alton Baker Park afterward.
We are so proud of you, Ronan!

Last Day of School

Such a big boy on his last day of Kindergarten--I can't believe it!
Ronan's class got to go on a field trip to a neighborhood park where they had fun games, snacks, and a chance to play on the playground.  (Griffin and I went along.)
Ronan and his buddies: Jack, Owen, Ryan, Asher, & Dallas
After school we were invited to walk to get ice cream with Ronan's friend, Clayton, and his mom.  We ended up at Vanilla Jill's for frozen yogurt--yummy!
On the walk home we saw our favorite neighborhood kitty, 'crooked-tail', as we fondly call it. (;  It's the sweetest cat!
The fun continued when we were invited to Memaw's house for a last day of school party!

We had just found out a week or two before that Ronan got into Buena Vista (Spanish immersion program) for 1st grade!  He was on the waiting list and we weren't expecting him to get in before school started, so we were all very excited when we got the news!
Tyler-going into 5th grade!, Sadie-going into 2nd grade!, and Ronan-going into 1st grade!!
