Fun with the Henry boys

While my parents were in Maui at the beginning of July I helped my sister, Katrina, with her boys since she was back to work after her maternity leave. It was exciting for my boys to have Finley over to play with and also baby Cedar who was just 2 months old at the time! It's been so long since I've had a baby to take care of, so it was a lot of fun for me. (: It helps that Cedar is such a sweet and mellow baby! We kept things pretty simple and mostly stayed home, played with toys, and watched Curious George cartoons. I really enjoyed having that time to get to know my nephews better!

One of the mornings I decided to give all three boys a bath in my big tub...with bubbles & jets and all. (:

Such happy boys!
Ronan loved trying to entertain Cedar. He played his guitar and sang songs to him...and Cedar seemed to really like it. (:

On one of the days, when I just had Finn, we walked to a "free lunch" park with Amy and her kids.

Water Fun with Friends

On July 7th a group of friends from our moms group at church met up at Oakway Park for some play time for our kids. It's always a fun excuse for us to visit and catch up with each other as our kids exert some energy. Between the 7 moms there we had a total of 16 kids! We all had a good time and I loved watching the kids enjoying the sun and the sand & water....ahhh, I love summer!!

It never fails...Ronan is always the the wettest & sandiest kid at the park. (: He's always been that way. (:

June 26th

On Friday, June 26th, we got together with our good friends, the Roots, who were visiting from Wisconsin. The Greens were able to join us, too, so we all met at Best Ln Park for lunch and playtime. Here's a little background on our friendship: Amy and Terra were next-door neighbors growing up and have been friends since elementary school. I met them both at youth group when my family moved to Eugene in '89 and we quickly became inseparable friends. (It's funny to think that ten years later I married Amy's brother) (: We hung out non-stop in middle school and remained friends through high school and into adulthood. I love that we are still close friends to this day and we get to watch our kids grow up together. Since Terra and her family live in Wisconsin we don't get to see them very often, but when we do it's like no time has passed. We had such a fun visit with them! Ronan still asks about their kids and even wanted to invite them to his birthday party. (: We hope that someday the Root family will move back to the west coast! (:

Swimming Fun

On June 24th we joined some of our friends at the Amazon Pool. It was their opening week for summer, so it was absolutely packed! We had a lot of fun and the kids did great, but it was a bit stressful for us moms trying to keep an eye on our kiddos. There are several pools there and a section for sand play, but we managed to all stick together and make the most of it! I brought the underwater case for our camera so I was able to get some fun shots of the kids.

We gotta work on keeping that tongue in his mouth while swimming--especially in public pools! (:

Berry Patch

The first Moms of Grace activity of the summer was strawberry picking at Lone Pine Farms. We do it every year and it's always a big hit for the kids (& moms, too). This time Ronan and Griffin helped me pick a whole bucket full, whereas in the past I would just buy the pre-picked berries from Lone Pine's store because the boys weren't interested in picking. It was a lot of fun!

Father's Day part 2

Father's Day turned out to be a pretty mellow day for us. We went to church and then came home to hang out as a family. Ronan and Griffin were excited to give gifts to Daddy--we surprised him with a collage photo from the camping trip (with pictures he hadn't seen yet). We also got him a french press mug from Dutch Bros.

Later in the afternoon Josh's family came over for dinner and to celebrate the dads. We had a fun time hanging out and watching the cousins play together. They are all so independent now, except for Emma I guess (:, but for the most part they all entertain each other nicely.
