We signed Ronan up for soccer for the summer to give him a little bit of routine and an outlet for his unending energy...and because we knew that he would really enjoy it! Another deciding factor was that Kick City was offering their summer classes at various parks around town, one being close to where we live. So, today I rode the kids in the bike trailer to Ascot Park for Ronan's very first day of soccer! He was really excited but also a little nervous because he didn't quite know what to expect. He was concerned that the coach would yell loudly (he even asked the coach if he liked to yell), and he wanted to be sure that I would stay to watch him.
His team is called the Jackrabbits and it is for 3 & 4 year olds. Today there were only two other kids on his team (both girls), but they can have up to 8 players so there will probably be more kids next week. Ronan listened to his coach really well and followed along as they played some silly games and worked on some beginning soccer skills.

Griffin and I watched on the side lines, but I could tell that he really wanted to play too. I brought some toys and books for him, which kept him busy for a little while (: He was really interested in watching the team next to us playing with the parachute!
